1. What are minimum age requirements for renting a motorcycle?

Depending on the category you choose:

  • Category A: 19 years old (guardian’s signature required).
  • Category B, C, D & E : 22 years old

For safety reasons, Motorent cannot rent a scooter to a driver who does not have enough driving experience, while he/she must have held a driver’s license for at least 2 years.

2. What are driver’s license requirements to rent a Scooter in Greece?

If you wish to rent a scooter with Moto Rent, please read the driver’s license requirements below:

For a Moped-50cc scooter, a car driver’s license B or a moped-category driver’s license (European AM) is required.

For a 125cc scooter, a driver must present a valid motorcycle-class driver’s license (European A1, A or A2).

For a 300cc scooter, a driver must present a valid motorcycle-class driver’s license (European A or A2).

For motorcycles exceeding 300cc, a driver must present a valid motorcycle-class driver’s license (European A2).

3. Is a scooter easy to drive?

Yes, it is super easy, since all our Scooters are automatic (no gears).
However, a prior maxi scooter or motorbike driving experience is required.
For safety reasons, even if you hold the required driver’s license for your preferred category, we strongly recommend that people with no driving experience not rent a scooter in a foreign country.

4. Is previous driving experience required?

Yes, it is required that you have a satisfactory level of knowledge of scooter/wagon handling. In any case, if our agents realize, at the time of delivery, that you do not have enough experience, they reserve the right to stop the rental process, for your own safety.

5. What does the scooter rental price include?

The basic scooter rental includes:
✅ THIRD-PARTY insurance (civil liability)
✅ Unlimited kilometers/mileage
✅ 2 Helmets
✅ Back cushion for top case for passengers
✅ All taxes
✅ Complimentary, custom-made map

6. What does the insurance cover?

🔰 The BASIC insurance covers damages against third parties and health assistance for drivers and passengers.

🔰 In case of an accident, you are automatically insured for the damage caused to third parties. 

However, costs for both any damage caused to your vehicle and any damage you might have suffered are not covered through this insurance. In that case you are usually covered through your travel or medical insurance.

🔰 An extra insurance is available to limit the amount to be paid in case of crash or theft. The name of the driver is the only one being covered through this extra insurance (Full Scooter Insurance), thus this insurance is not valid on the condition that the driver has not enough experience handling a motorcycle/scooter or an unauthorized person drives the vehicle. This insurance does not cover any accessories Insurance Page.

7. Does the Third Party Insurance cover damages to the vehicle?

No, the  Basic Insurance-Third Party Insurance does not cover any damages caused to the vehicle and therefore an additional insurance is offered to reduce your excess as shown on Insurance Page.

8. In which cases am I not covered by any insurance?

No insurance coverage applies:

  • For whatever happens when driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • For any damage caused by driving on unpaved roads.
  • For any damage caused to the bottom of the motorcycle, the tires and rims.
  • For accidents caused by an unauthorized driver, not being explicitly referred to in the Rental Agreement.
  • For accidents which renters have not notified Motorent Corfu of and have not reported them to police authorities, according to Greek law, regardless of fault.

9. What are payment methods?

In order to rent a scooter in Corfu with Motorent Corfu, you can make payment using the following methods:

  • Payment upon delivery in cash.
  • Payment upon delivery with a debit or credit card.
  • Full payment with a debit or credit card during the reservation process. With this payment method, your reservation is confirmed immediately.

10. Do I need to pay a deposit to rent a scooter?

No, you have just to pay the total rental amount. In case of damage during the rental period, you will be charged according to the terms of the insurance you have chosen.

11. Is the use of helmets compulsory in Greece?

Even if you realize that most of the locals drive on Greek roads without using helmets, their use is compulsory in Greece.

The fine for driving without a helmet in Greece sometimes exceeds 1.000€, and there is a possibility of license suspension. (Last Update 15/2/2024)

12. What about off-road driving (gravel - dirt - concrete) with a Scooter?

The Scooter is constructed to be driven on paved roads.

It is forbidden to drive off road with a Scooter.

13. Can I modify my reservation?

You can modify your reservation regarding the type, dates and hours of rental based on availability after contacting us. There are no fees for any modifications.  If the new reservation costs more than the original, you have to pay the remaining balance. Check our Terms & Conditions.
